Mental Health Assessment, Counselling & Treatment Services

  • Private mental health treatment services are provided by Dr Iqbal Mohiuddin and his wife Pam, both with many years of experience in the NHS. Sensitive assessment and counselling treatment is provided from their home in the pleasant suburb of Round Green in East Luton. There is parking and  easy access to main roads to the M1 (J10), A505 (Hitchin Road/ Vauxhall Way) and A6 (New Bedford Road) as well as nearby local and national rail links (Luton Central and Luton Parkway mainline stations).

  • Anyone can react to stressful situations in many different ways and Dr Iqbal recognises this. Listening sensitively and non-judgmentally, he quickly empathises with his clients' feelings and thoughts as well as their unique situations and behaviours. His clients learn to relax so that they can talk freely and openly.

  • Past and present experiences can be explored in a safe environment to see how these may have led to your present situation as well as how they may be affecting you now. Clients are enabled to focus on more positive aspects and changes in their lives. Destructive patterns of feeling, thinking and behaviour are directly challenged and decrease over time with patience and support.

  • Your indiviudal unmet needs of a physical, psychological and social nature as well as your existing resources - the 'Human Givens' - are discussed and identified. A plan is jointly agreed to help best achieve your unmet needs and goals over time. The new understanding gained about yourself and your unique situation can help free you to make the best choices for your future.

  • Counselling can also help your relationships within a marriage, partnership or family to work betterAll problems, past and present, can be explored and worked through together to assist your long-term recovery and future wellbeing.

  • More severe problems may need treatment with appropriate medication initially and then combined with talking treatment for a quicker and long-standing recovery. Safe and evidence-based therapy and treatment advice will always be given accordingly.

  • Specialist liaison and advice to professional colleagues, such as GPs, regarding effective evidence-based mental health treatment can also be provided on request.
  •

  • With some compassion, dignity and respect anyone can recover and enjoy life.
